The album will be released June 12 and physical copies will be sold through www.officialjdilla.com. J Dilla’s mother, Mrs. Maureen “MaDukes” Yancey released the following statement in regards to the project saying:
This will bring together artists that have drifted away from one another and haven’t been able to work with each other lately. It’s a healing process for the city. For individuals, it’s going to bring back the love and the passion for the music and for what hip-hop has to offer.

Known as one of the web’s more popular independent music resources with expansive daily coverage on everything from hip-hop to experimental music, PITCHFORK TV adds another animated interview to its hilarious FRAMES series, this time featuring one of the original Clansman, GZA. In an episode directed and animated by Mack Williams, GZA reminisces on the times him and his cousin, RZA, would travel from Staten Island to the birth place of hip-hop, the Bronx, to get a glimpse at the outdoor block parties as a kid. Now if only GZA can turn this into a weekly series it will no doubt be an interweb favorite. Konichiwa Hypebeasts!
